The centerpiece of Jones' (classics, U. of Tennessee-Knoxville) work is a catalogue of foreign artifacts found at 33 sites in Crete, and Cretan artifacts found at overseas sites. He discusses such topics as ships, harbors, travel, Crete and Cyprus, the importance of early iron age trade, agricultural risk and comparative advantage, and the sensitivity of the Greek economy to resources reallocations associated with trade.
