Die Studie stellt spätrepublikanische und frühkaiserzeitliche männliche Bildnisstatuen im Hinblick auf ein spezifisches Trachtmerkmal zusammen und beweist anhand der Aufstellung von statuarischen Typenreihen, daß seit der Herrschaft des Augustus für repräsentative Ehrenstatuen vornehmlich von Angehörigen des Kaiserhauses und auch für vereinzelte Privatbildnisse griechische originale Götter- und Heroenstatuen des 5. bis 3. Jh. v. Chr. kopiert und mit einem - Hüftmantel kombiniert wurden, insofern die Originale diesen nicht schon aufwiesen.
