The XVth Symposium of the Society for Greek and Hellenistic Legal History, held in Salerno in September 2005, was attended by thirty-three scholars from ten countries. The lectures encompassed issues ranging from private to criminal law, and from public law to legal procedures. The result was three concentrated days, during which the confrontation between different methodologies brought a number of new and interesting perspectives to the debate. The first part of this proceedings volume is dedicated to Magna Graecia, followed chronologically by Archaic and Classical Law, Greek-Roman Law and Byzantine Law.

Il XV Symposion della Società Internazionale per la Storia del Diritto Greco ed Ellenistico si è tenuto a Salerno dal 14 al 18 settembre 2005. Vi hanno preso parte 33 studiosi provenienti da dieci diversi Paesi. I temi affrontati hanno spaziato dal diritto privato a quello penale, dal diritto pubblico a quello processuale. Le relazioni e i numerosi interventi hanno dato vita a tre intense giornate, durante le quali si sono confrontati approcci metodologici diversi, che a hanno offerto al dibattito nuovi e interessanti spunti di riflessione. Nel volume che raccoglie le relazioni, dopo una prima parte dedicata alla Magna Grecia, i contributi si susseguono in ordine cronologico: diritto arcaico e classico, diritto greco-romano e diritto bizantino.
